I got to the front of his house gasping for breath It was the longest and scariest run of life, for a second I had forgotten about Obi all I cared about was my life, how selfish of me. It had been several minutes since I got here and Obi was yet to arrive, what if something had happened to Obi? What kind of life is this? Me and my bad fortune, it was no coincidence this was happening to me again, I tried to erase the thought but the more I did the more worried I became. After a few more minutes of trying to console my self, Obi showed up from one corner of the street walking sluggishly, poor guy he must have exhausted every bit of energy in him. I heaved a huge sigh of relief, quickly ran towards him, threw myself at him he managed to catch me mid-air and lifted me up like a baby. We looked at each other for a few seconds and busted into a series of laughter which reverberated through lonely the streets.
Obi and I were madly in love with each other strange as it may sound we had just known each other a couple of weeks ago. The love was fresh and hot, Obi was the nicest guy I've ever dated. Something about him stood out from the rest, he wasn't particularly handsome or tall with broad shoulders but the way he made me feel was totally different...
I've had my fair share of bad lucks with men nothing they all ended interest, one thing was certain either they broke up with me or they'd disappear without living a trace. Often times I'd sit and wonder if I had been cursed, my life wasn't really smooth as people would think at first sight. I had been through numerous series of breakups and heartbreaks, my heart could barely function properly. At a point in my life, I contemplated suicide until I met Diane.
Diane, a short dark-skinned lady with very white teeth, not your typical go-to girl, in actual fact, she was known as the "church girl". She told me about her story how she almost ended her life, somehow, I felt better seeing someone who had gone through a similar ordeal but her perceived therapy was rather bizarre coming from a "church girl". After much discussions, She opened up to me about her lesbianism journey and how much it changed her life, I was in awe all through but I managed to hide it away from her. Daine had an innocent look nothing about her suggested she was into women, she dressed modest and vague often times I wasn't surprised she was a chorister in the local church we attended. We began spending lots of time together she made sure she'd always check up on me from time to time, Diane was God sent and I cherished her friendship and warmness.
One day She introduced me to a lesbian club at first I felt uneasy but with time I adjusted to my new life maybe it was what I needed, after all, we had been through a similar ordeal.
I met this beautiful lady Toyo, Toyo was a sweet young lady, tall, light-skinned, with huge firm breasts, She was every man and woman's dream I wondered how she managed to keep her breasts so firm, she made me hate my breasts they looked more like two over riped bananas waiting to fall off. Toyo was usually calm on the outside, talked softly, walked elegantly, a generous lady but her uncanny hatred for men was conspicuous. I never took out time to ask her why she developed an intense dislike for men, It didn't seem necessary at first, besides why wouldn't she hate men? Anyone who had gone through a similar ordeal could easily develop hatred for men.
After weeks of talking we started dating, Toyo moved into my small two-bedroom flat somewhere around Lekki peninsula, and for a while, I thought I had finally found my destiny everything was going perfectly fine until I met Keke.
Keke was another beautiful lady, dark-skinned and plump everything about her body was near perfect. She had a knack for plastic surgery which explained her artificial looks and near-perfect body. My life took a new turn the day Toyo bumped into me chatting with Keke on the phone she got so furious I had never seen her so angry I tried to calm her down but she was adamant, she threatened to deal with me if I kept talking to Keke, I thought she was been overdramatic so I called it a bluff.
"Catherine! Catherine! where are you? come out! I'd teach you a lesson today!" I heard shouts from the kitchen, it was Toyo, I ran towards the kitchen to find her visibly angry with bloodstains on her hand. "what have you done Toyo?" I asked, "I am going to teach you a lesson today kate" those were the words she mumbled before she grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed me on my right shoulder. I fell to the floor, and my life flashed before my eyes. Is this how my life finally ended? see what relationship has gotten me into? Those were my last thoughts before I passed out...
We walked down the street of Lagos with no worries, It was a cold breezy morning, with the morning due trickling down on us like showers of blessing. Obi wrapped his left hand round my tiny waist and held me close to his body I felt the warmth of his embrace, the firm masculine grip encapsulated my soul. The evening before I had promised to take him to a strip club it had always been my fantasy to visit a strip club with the love of my life, Obi thicked all the boxes, therefore, I was willing to spend my whole life and fulfill those fantasies with him. He declined my offer initially after much persuasion he succumbed. We got to a T-junction close to the bus-stop I quickly noticed a masculine figure walking aggressively towards us his uncoordinated movements gave me the impression he wasn't in his right senses. I quickly alerted Obi "babe I think a mad man is coming towards us" I muttered softly, He looked unbothered told me not to worry. I couldn't get my eyes off the figure until he got really close. He had dreadlocks with seashells all over, his dreads were long and covered most part of his face we could barely see his eyes. I noticed he was holding a strange object on his right hand like a log of wood this made me really nervous, my suspicion was confirmed when he raised the wood towards my direction. My soul almost left my body, In a state of shock, I couldn't move I was stuck It was as if I was been held down by an unknown force. Obi was quick to push me away from the object which was heading straight to my face. I landed heavily on the floor, after a few seconds I staggered, regained my balance, I heard Obi shout "cath! run! run!" I quickly jumped out from my slumber and took to my heels never looked back until I lost sight of them.
I woke up with a strong headache unaware of my environment. It took me a few seconds to realize I was in a hospital. What happened? I asked holding my right arm? I heard a strange male voice "oh you were stabbed on the right hand and I brought you here after you had passed out" are you the doctor? and what do you mean by you brought me here? you need to calm down, we'll talk when you feel better.
Hours later, I woke up the second time feeling much better, the strange man stood beside me. You again? who are you? I asked. He smiled at me and said, "my name me is Obi"...
